UA: Sparrow VTOL
The objectives of the practical training are:
Safety awareness in Unmanned Aircraft (UA) operations.
Operational considerations.
Perform the necessary tasks for CAAS practical assessment
Know the course of action in times of emergency. Eg. UA malfunction.
Best practices in managing the fleet of UA.
Situational ground awareness when operating the UA.
Controlling the UA in different orientation.
The candidates would be coached under highly experienced instructors and provided with many opportunities to fly and train. Closer to the end of course, instructors would assess skill level of candidates and provide opportunities for the practical mock assessment.
Practical Assessment
Duration: 30 mins
Ratio of AFE to candidates: 1 to 1
An official AFE would be arranged to assess candidates on the required tasks to be completed. Only 1 assessment would be granted to each candidate per day.
All assessment results would be transmitted to CAAS and successful candidates who met all the other requirements can proceed to apply their Unmanned Aircraft Pilot Licence (UAPL) on CEPELS (CAAS pilot licence portal) site.
